Our Students Go Green contest has now officially opened! This is a contest to challenge students from around the state to come up with ideas for making their schools more environmentally friendly. This is the first in an annual contest in an effort to come up with the best ideas for making Illinois schools as environmentally friendly as possible. The ideas chosen in this Students Go Green contest will be implemented state-wide.
The rules are as follows:
1. Students may work individually or as a team. No more than 5 students to a team, however.
2. The ideas must be presented in essay form of no less than 4 pages, with 1 page devoted to the estimated cost, and how said estimate was determined, 1 page devoted to the benefit of the project and 1 page devoted to proposed implementation of said idea.
3. Students must submit a form testifying that the ideas are their own.
First place will receive a $1000 CD, second place will receive a $500 CD, and third place will receive a $250 CD. Each of these prizes will be broken into smaller denominations if the winning idea comes from a team rather than an individual.
